The Crane model 403/12 was developed as a robust, high-specification, industrial battery charger aimed at the professional film industry.
The three output sockets sense how many batteries are connected. Charge current (high range) is regulated from 0,9 Amps to 2 Amps per battery in order to keep the charger at an acceptable temperature. Individual circuits control the charge to each battery.
Each battery also has a flashing light indicating charge. This flashing light changes colour to indicate the level of charge. Once maintenance level is reached, the flashing light changes to continuous green. Carefully developed circuitry ensure optimized charging times.
